Choreography context :

In 2015, two big events happened : Sanjay Leela Bhansali's last movie, Bajirao Mastani, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, has become a huge success ; and Chandâga discovered the existence of Bollyshake.

Bollyshake is one of the biggest indian dance broadcast platform in the world,  nay the biggest. You just have to put your Youtube videos on the website. You can also occasionally enter contests and compte with other customers.  The winner receives prizes like money, or chance to participate to an event, like a show or a videoclip. 

Chandâga entered the Bajirao Mastani contest with the Deewani Mastani and Pinga songs. The songs were actually imposed, but the choreographies had to be creative and original... This is when Mouki decided to disguise herself as Bajirao. Since Mastani is crazy about Bajirao, she can imagine dancing with him, right? Unfortunately, if the intention was good, the result was a disaster and not really convincing! XD 

Anecdote I : Mouki watched many makeup toturials and other websites to create her masculine look. After this fail, she decided to remake the choreography later, as a solo, during a contest Étoile couldn't enter. Because of busy schedules, her participation was cancelled, and Deewani Mastani has never been given a second wind.

Anecdote II : it was the first choreography shot with Mouki's father's camera, which has a better quality than an iPad/cellphone.

Song context :

Bajirao I (Ranveer Singh) is the Peshwa (Prime Minister) of the marathe Empire. Married to Kashi Bai (Priyanka Chopra), he's far from suspecting that his meeting with Mastani (Deepika Padukone), raja Chhatrasal's illegitimate daughter, will cut his heart in two.
Hosted in Bajirao's palace as a courtesan, Mastani decides to declare her love to Bajirao through singing and dancing, during the Paraba festival... which Kashi Bai doesn't like very much...

Anecdote: according to Deepika Padukone, the song and the background were inspired by Mughal-e-Azam. You'll notice that the Deewani Mastani finale looks a lot like Pyaar kya to darna kya's !
