Oru Kari Mukilinu (EN)

Choreography context

For her 20th birthday, Mouki decided to create a tribute choreography for her ultimate favorite film: Charlie (2015), a malayalee movie starring the talented Dulquer Salmaan and the sweet Parvathy.
The choreography is about a young woman in search of happiness. She finds it, thanks to this strange and colorful spirit.

Song context
Tessa (Parvathy) is set on board of a strange mission when she discovers, in her new flat, the unfinished story of the previous tenant (Dulquer Salmaan). While following his steps, she becomes so obsessed by the "djinn" (as people call him) that she dreams about him.

Original lyrics: in blue
Translated lyrics: in black

Oru kari mukilinu chirakukalaruliya minnale
Lightening that gave wings to a dark cloud
Puthumazha malarukal vithariya kuru mozhi thennale
A gentle breeze sprinkled a new monsoon
Veyilil nizhalupol marayum maayayai
Like a shadow under the sun, he vanishes like an illusion
Viralaal shilayilum kulirezhum uravakalezhuthi
With his fingers, he writes poems on rocks
Ithuvazhi akalumaaro
Then he takes another path
Avanetho maaya jaalam
Who is he? What is he? An illusion?
Aaro avanaaro kaanum swapnam
Who is he? Is he a dream that can be seen?
Oru kari mukilinu chirakukalaruliya minnale
Lightening that gave wings to a dark cloud
Puthumazha malarukal vithariya kuru mozhi thennaley
A gentle breeze sprinkled a new monsoon
Maayamaareejam neelaponmaano
Illusionist breeze, are you the golden deer (Maricha, a demon killed by Rama in the Ramayana) ?
Doore paayaanaayi kaato chumadukal ivaneki
The wind gave him the wings so he could fly far
Aakaikalaal vinveedhiyil thoovum ven praavaayi
He flies like a white dove, his hands touching the blue sky
Kaanal jalam pol thennumee kunjin sankalppam
The dream hidden within is eyes is carried by the wind
Aaro avanetho maaya jaalam
Who is he? What is he? An illusion?
Aaro avanaaro kaanum swapnam
Who is he? Is he a dream that can be seen?
Oru kari mukilinu chirakukalaruliya minnale
Lightening that gave wings to a dark cloud
Bhoothakannadi roopangal thedi
The mirror, at a distance, searches for images
Naalam neetaanayi konil anujaya manideepam
In a corner, an atonishing lamp is lighting up
Aaro avanaaro kaanum swapnam
Who is he? Is he a dream that can be seen?
Oru kari mukilinu chirakukalaruliya minnale
Lightning that gave wings to a dark cloud
Puthumazha malarukal vithariya kuru mozhi thennaley
A gentle breeze sprinkled a new monsoon
